November 2008

Another year is off and running!!!  It's hard to believe that we are almost finished with the second quarter. This year, I am monitoring the Spanish I and  II Classes, and teaching the Elementary Keyboarding classes, in addition to my duties as Media Specialist and Co-Technology Coordinator.    A new endeavor this years is a Podcasting Class.  Hopefully you will be able to check out our efforts in the near future.  If you are in one of these classes, you can usually find out what is going on in class by clicking on the Lesson Plans link at the side of the page.  I also take care of the E-Rate and NSSRS submissions for our district, both of which are time-consuming endeavors.

Some of you may wonder why I have a link to the E/F School Calendar.  My daughter is a senior there, and I need to keep track of what is going on at that school as well as Medicine Valley.

DancingTurkey:
Some of the staff members at Medicine Valley Public Schools are learning how to use a new web editing software called Manila.  Please check back frequently so you can see the updates to our pages to keep students, parents, and patrons informed of activites at Medicine Valley.

I am the Media Specialist at the Medicine Valley High School.  I also serve as one of three technology coordinators as well.  I have been working with PROStar and the Nebraska Department of Education this fall on the NSSRS (Nebraska Staff and Student Reporting System) to make sure that the data submitted by the schools is accurate.  I also work with E-Rate, and we just found out that we were approved for just over $6000 for funding for long distance phone calls for the 2006-2007 school year.

Some of you may wonder why I have included a link to the E/F School calendar.  That is because I live in Eustis and have a daughter who is a sophomore......so I need to keep track of all of the "goings-on" in that school district as well as at Medicine Valley.

The school year is flying by!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING from all of us at the Medicine Valley High School.
